This story begins with two friends who are out and get robbed in town. They are both very good people from a good family. The robber kills one of the friends. While the other friend tried to help, the robber gets away, and then gets caught by the police.
The main part of the story starts later in a courtroom. The robber ends up getting off without any punishment. The family is upset, especially the friend who was there to witness what happened. A few days later, the friend appears as a spirit to try to comfort the friend, let him know that he is OK and that he needs to forgive the murderer.
The friend is still upset and ponders how to make up for the death of his friend. While watching a horror ghost story on TV and thinking of the visitation of his friend, he realizes that spirits are among us. He contemplates taking his own life to be able to come back as a spirit to haunt his friend’s murderer. And the story continues....
